My Weekend

So we took a little trip down to beautiful Savannah, GA this past weekend for a little bachelorette fun. And it was the BEST bachelorette weekend a little bride to be could have asked for! The weather was beautiful, the city was beautiful, my bride's maids are just the best EVER! I had a ball! We stayed at The Bohemian Hotel, right on the river and just the best location to walk everywhere. Interesting fact about Savannah: you can take your drinks to go and just walk the streets, drink in hand. It was awesome...

So if your ever in Savannah, The Bohemian is where you want to stay. We even had a bar on our roof! Was just perfect for us. So, thank you once again Bohemian...

I'm in love with Savannah now. I'd never been before and its like a cleaner Charleston. We had so much fun going out! One night we went to Savannah Smiles, this awesome dueling piano bar. I definitely recommend the place if you 're in Savannah! My guy and I will definitely be taking a trip back down together soon!

Engrave...

So, I've decided to engrave a little something special in my guys wedding band. However, I'm really struggling with what I'm going to engrave! I didn't think it would be this hard. I've even googled it! But everything was a "I love you" or "Happily ever after". I want something special.

I was thinking maybe "I carry your heart with me" from the E.E. Cummings poem I love (and gave a copy here for Valentine's day). I think it maybe too many letters though slightly and I'm sad about it. That's what I had in mind and now I have no idea! Did anyone engrave something for their guy? Any suggestions?

Another Round

So, I spent another weekend full of wedding showers. Remeber my "shower dress"? Well, it came in in time to be worn this past sunday and it was very cute! I received many compliments!

Went more cashual for another, bringing out the cowboy boots! :)

Was super excited to get some of my Lenox Federal Platinum fine china!

And our Emerilware Stainless Cookware! Yaye! (My guy will be more excited since he's the cook in the relationship and he actually picked them out!) Might throw in a loud "BAM" when I'm cooking in Emeril's honor.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family! I don't know what I'd do without them! Everyone is so thoughtful and generous and we received so many wonderful things! I can't wait to "set up" home...

Vintage Tea Time

So two weekend ago I had my announcement tea with the ladies in my life, a tradition in our family when a girl becomes engaged. My mom and four Aunts put on quite a tea party and because of the numerous girls in my family, they are getting quite the rep for a job well done. Two weeks ago was no different. They did a lovely job. However, at times I felt a little like Alice in Wonderland, feeling quite out of place, being the center of attention. Anyone relate?

My photographer, Lesa, also friend of the family who was invited to the tea, snapped a couple shots of my mom, sisters and me. She also took some pics inside our family "big house" as we all call it, where our family holds large gatherings. Its a very old home in our town, where my grandpa grew up and its such a great house. It has such character and great vintage style. Here are few Lesa snapped that she shared with me.

March Showers

Wedding showers are upon me! They are officially in full swing! Last weekend I had my engagement tea (more on that later) with all the ladies and also had a couple's tool and garden shower. However, my first "real shower" is Saturday and then another Sunday. And I need dresses people! I bought this dress today from Anthropologie (online!) in hopes it will get here (and fit when it gets here) by this weekend! I thought it looked like a shower dress. What you think? I like the idea of wearing all white to my showers but on the other hand I think that might be a little too boring for me too. Plus, there's all those confusing rules about white after/before Easter. AND considering its supposed to snow on Tuesday... well, anyway... I liked the dress!

I also think it would be a great Jamaica dress! I'm getting so excited about the honeymoon! Counting down the day... only one month, sixteen days till paradise! :)
