If you're going to live on a farm you have to hang some farm pictures up on the wall... and these prints are AMAZING! I'll definitely have to remeber these when the time comes.

Wide Open Spaces

With the de-treeing, de-stumping, clearing and scraping of our 30 acres of heaven over the past few months, beautiful dialogue has taken place over the future layout of the Mr. & Mrs. Shane Evans family abode. The discourse conclusion: wide open spaces! Yes, my friends swing wide those heavenly gates! Wide open is on the menu: open fields, wide porches, large airy rooms, simple, clean, classic. We've definitley decided on a one story houseplan and actually loved this "U" style houseplan {toned down a bit with less rooms (music room, guest suite... theatre? really?) & more open spaces}. We've also discovered we like the idea of the courtyard {no pool} with our barn situated in a disant corner insead of a garage. This is the dreaming & imagining stage & I'm in LOVE with the process.

Take me to The Prairie

So I was browsing through my September Southern Living magazine this morning & came across this fabulous bed & breakfast {i love a great b&b} by Rachel Ashwell called The Prairie! I'm probably the last southerner to know about it{who knew and didn't tell me!} since opening earlier this year, but I got so excited anyway & I'm ready to plan a trip with my sisters and mom ASAP! The place is beautifully designed with her Shabby Chic collections and is the perfect combination between rustic and lush elegance. Plus its in the heart of a Texan town's antique utopia! Uhh, perfect!

a few friday favs

while i am feeling a bit better {thanks for all ya'lls lovely well wishes}, i'm still in the midst of battling this deep/lung hurting cough. yes, it hasn't been pretty. the sick taking care of the sick is always a bit pitiful. and i didn't feel like i could call in at work because we're SO short staffed and i couldn't do it to my fellow coworkers. however, on the positive, my voice is coming back & that's always a good sign! while catching up on some of my usual bloggies, i am loving some of their stuff! take a look!

Seeing this picture {below} of these dark hair girls over at Live Love Small, I was completely brought back to the days when my older sister, me, & one of my younger sisters all shared a room. {I probably wouldn't have minded if our room looked like that!} We were about these girls ages when we shared, all had long, dark brown hair, & i can remember us always wearing large, over sized t-shirts to bed! Fun times!

Wednesday Wishes

So lately Garnet Hill is one of my favorite magazines to arrive. I am loving their spring/summery looks. Everything from their light, breezy dresses to their worn out, leather boots (yes, these boots above have my name all over them)! Oh & its so hard being frugal! I'm in the mood for a new spring wardrobe! & does anyone else love Boden stuff as much as I do! Take a peek at some of their spring looks here! so cute!

Cinderella's bathroom

This past Saturday morning, My Love and I headed over to B&N for coffee and some quiet reading time. I love these days. I grab all of my favorite magazines and slip quietly into my own little world of beautiful places. Well, in House Beautiful THIS lovely bathroom took my breath away. And while it's a bit to formal for this country girl, I still have a bit of Cinderella syndrome in me to fully appreciate the beautifulness {is that a word?} & loveliness of this bathroom. As some may know I am a bit of a bathtub snob... yes its true. But take a peek at this burnished cast-iron Candide tub from Waterworks ladies! Crazy beautiful, and this is a guest bathroom {makes me wonder what their master bathroom looks like}! I believe this room could probably fit my future little barn inside of it! :D

Spring is Springing

Ok, so all of us southern girls have gotten a taste of spring the last few days. I think Friday is supposed to be a high of 72! Its been loverly! and I just entered a giveaway over at the little red house to win one of these cute Shabby Apple dresses!

I still LOVE my bangs... and so very sorry no picture has been posted {stay tuned}! I've been a little all over the place lately {therefore blogland has been tragically neglected}.

Good news! Our {future} land is hopefully within our grasp! The judge just has to sign off on something blah blah... and then we'll start the process for our loan! woot, woot! possibly my barn by summer?

Jesus and I are really getting involved these days... He's teaching me all sorts of lovely things!

My Love sleeps so peacefully next to me right now on the couch, I love to glance over at him periodically and just watch. {yep, he fell asleep watching the steeler/jets game}

Friday one of my coworkers told me that her pedometer read over 11,000 steps and it was only 5pm... we still had at least 2 more hours of work! i gotta get one of those things. made me realize how much we're on our feet!! crazy!

February is just around the corner... and I'm in the mood for Love!

oh so pretty

I totally went for it and got bangs! yaye! I'll have to share a pic soon. Unfortunately I didn't even think of taking one yesterday when I was feeling oh so pretty and sheek, and if I took one now {after crawling out of bed} you may not think oh so pretty! :D {even though I woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and still smiled at my bangs, I'm guessing that's a good sign}

But I LOVE them!! Thanks for all the encouraging "go for its"! I feel a bit like Andy off of The Devil Wears Prada... and last night at my home group with my girls they all gushed! Yaye! Happy Tuesday to all!

Yeah right! I showed Maci, the girl who cuts and colors my hair this pic too. I told her if i lost about 50 lbs, I'm getting this cut because its fabulous! But only the super skinny could pull it off... but isn't it darling?!

Yes, so I have a hair appointment today... and I am seriously thinking about getting bangs! WHHAAAT!! I know, I'm a little nervous! But I have seriously been considering bangs for a while now. I have NEVER had them... well maybe when I was 2 (and my mom said they were a disaster), but I really want to give them a shot! And I was a bit nervous about them especially because I wear my hair back often, but look how great these bangs and buns go together! Errr, but I go back and forth... anyone have some advice?

Spring Fever

Why is it that every year, just when one season has practically begun, I'm yearning for the next! Well, its starting, and while I'm supposed to be taking my Christmas tree down, I'm looking online for my new spring wardrobe {actually, this new DREAM spring wardrobe, I can't half afford, but i do dream!}. Does anyone else have that problem!! Why can't I just be content in my present season!
