The Gift

So I received my pictures from my lovely photographer, Lesa Jefferies, the sweetest christian woman and photographer you'll ever know or work with. I've known the wonderful Mrs. Jefferies since middle school, but she only recently started into photography and she has been gifted in photography! She doesn't have a web site but if anyone is in SC and would be interested in working with her you can contact through her facebook page here.

I have so many wonderful memories of my wedding day and I'm so blessed that my photographer was able to capture my memories so beautifully. One memory in particular was the gift and special note I received from Shane while getting dressed. While Anna, my younger sister, was doing my make-up in front of a window I saw my fiance at the time drive up and hand my maid of honor a gift. It was so fun looking down and seeing him all dressed out in his crisp white shirt, tie, and vest. When Bess, my maid of honor, handed me the gift all my bridesmaids gave a really big "AWWW" and big smiles. I opened the note first and read it out loud. It said:

My Bride,
I can't describe how excited I am for this day to finally be here. You have
me me the happiest man alive! I thank God that he prepared such a wonderful
woman for me to spend my life with, and I'm looking forward to our life
ahead. My prayer today is that you are as excited as I am, that your nerves
are calm, that our evening will be perfect, and that we will always trust
God to lead and provide for us. My promise to you is that I will always
be there; when the road gets wild and scary count on me to be right there!
I love you! Lets Get Married!
Shane

When I opened my gift it was a new Bible with my new name engraved on the front. It was the best gift a groom could give his new bride. I will treasure it dearly as we start our new journey together.

Thank you for my gift.

The Newly Wed

I'm back! I did it! And I'm married! My husband (*i just love saying that) doesn't have Internet so I've been a little disconnected from the world and my blog world for a while now. We're still in the process of changing that little problem at the house!

I officially haven't gotten my pics back from my photographer and I'm waiting with great anticipation! However, some friends took a few snaps at the wedding. And this post is dedicated to our wonderful parents who worked so hard to make our wedding day special! I mean my mom and dad are probably the best parent's in the world. Not only did they let me have the wedding in their yard, the yard I've trampled around in since I was born, but they also worked so hard to get everything looking ship shape! I couldn't be more blessed. And the wedding couldn't have been more beautiful!

Its my Job

Today was my last day of work before my wedding... And boy was I excited. The next time I walk through those hospital doors I'll have a new name. My ID badge will have to be changed. I'll have a new name to sign a thousand times a day. And I'll have another ring on my left hand.

I'll be off for over 2 weeks! That's the longest vacation I've taken since starting work. I've definitely felt a little distracted lately... for good reason. However, I don't like being distracted at work. I am my best at work. "Its my job to be better than the best and that makes the day for me." (Yes, Jimmy Buffet I feel the same) But report was given and the work day is over. And I'm ready for my last week of wedding details.

At the End of the Day

So my wedding countdown says I have 8 days till my wedding. HOLY COW! 8 DAYS!! I can't tell you how this makes me feel. I am a jumble of emotions lately... And I must confess I'm a little on edge. I know my family can feel it. I've been snappy with my mom especially. Why!?! Well, I think I've hit a wall of wedding planning and now my response to everything is "just handle it". Yes, I'm ready to put the wedding planning behind me and walk down that isle and become Mrs. Shane Evans.

It no longer matters where the cheese table is going, that we don't have enough wine glasses, my dress is still at the altering shop, the programs aren't ready, the salad has to have a seperate plate, we have to finnish our cd favors, it may rain, what shoes they're wearing, i need 2 more babysitters, what to pack for the honeymoon, one bridesmaid has been MIA for a while now, i didn't loose 50 lbs, etc, etc...

I'm ready. Everything else is starting to fade into the background. I'm READY. And in 8 days at the end of the day, I'll be married to my best friend.

My Weekend

So we took a little trip down to beautiful Savannah, GA this past weekend for a little bachelorette fun. And it was the BEST bachelorette weekend a little bride to be could have asked for! The weather was beautiful, the city was beautiful, my bride's maids are just the best EVER! I had a ball! We stayed at The Bohemian Hotel, right on the river and just the best location to walk everywhere. Interesting fact about Savannah: you can take your drinks to go and just walk the streets, drink in hand. It was awesome...

So if your ever in Savannah, The Bohemian is where you want to stay. We even had a bar on our roof! Was just perfect for us. So, thank you once again Bohemian...

I'm in love with Savannah now. I'd never been before and its like a cleaner Charleston. We had so much fun going out! One night we went to Savannah Smiles, this awesome dueling piano bar. I definitely recommend the place if you 're in Savannah! My guy and I will definitely be taking a trip back down together soon!

Engrave...

So, I've decided to engrave a little something special in my guys wedding band. However, I'm really struggling with what I'm going to engrave! I didn't think it would be this hard. I've even googled it! But everything was a "I love you" or "Happily ever after". I want something special.

I was thinking maybe "I carry your heart with me" from the E.E. Cummings poem I love (and gave a copy here for Valentine's day). I think it maybe too many letters though slightly and I'm sad about it. That's what I had in mind and now I have no idea! Did anyone engrave something for their guy? Any suggestions?
